I have been developing this morning meditation/ideation routine over the last 8 years. It works for me. It's my favorite time of the day. It's a blending of different practices that come from different teachers. I'll write it out here for the first time (I just realized) in detail. Maybe some part of it will be something that will work for you.

1. Get up - I rarely force myself to get up at a certain time. I let my body tell me when it is ready. My favorite is when I am up at 4 or 5am before the sun comes up.

2. Coffee + Water - I gotta have some coffee... but I balance it with sipping from a HydroFlask.

3. Good spot - I am either on my back deck with this view... or I am inside if it is too cold. I just sit comfortably.

6. Record and Visualize - Write out my thoughts and visualize my future (Joe Dispenza) - After some time, I start to visualize a future that I want to live into. What I want my day to look like; what I want for my relationships, for my business, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29KXJGq64UI

7. Get into a Flow state - (Steven Kotler) Then, I start writing. I used to use yellow notepads, but now I use this awesome technology called "Remarkable" tablet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29KXJGq64UI

8. Make a List - Write a "to do" list - I then write out some very practical things I want to accomplish (typically for my work) in the next 2-3 hours. I find that I need to write them down to make sure I don't get distracted.
