I decided to call one of my brother's spouses because even though I have known her for years now, I never gave myself the opportunity to ask her such a questions. She expressed that communication was important for her for many reason. Initially, she spoke of how she learned communicating was important as a first-generation, college student quite quickly. She felt that she didn't have good self advocacy and realized that when she started communicating it not only opened more doors for her and strengthened relationships, but also communicating helped her give and receive feedback to and from others. She continued to say family was important because her parents sacrificed so much for her and her siblings to have what they have. She grew up watching them work hard and support each other which teach her the lesson that family is blood. And blood is law. Her final value was empathy. She expressed that being able to see different points of views has given her the ability to connect with different types of personalities without significant difficulty. She added that showing care and being a lending hand to others is important because of karma. The worst that can happen if you spread love and care to others is that it is returned to you.
